Godolphin runner Malice remains an outright $4.50 favourite in 2016 Grafton Cup betting markets at Ladbrokes.com.au, ahead of Amexed ($5), Index Linked and Jumbo Prince; currently sharing the third line at $5.50 quotes.

Will Malice justify favouritism and win the 2016 Grafton Cup, or will one of his talented rivals post an upset?

Jumbo Prince ($5.50)

Consistent stayer Jumbo Prince has found typically smart form leading into the Grafton Cup, is drawn ideally in barrier 6 and has been charged with carrying only 55.5kgs in the staying feature. Posting a career total of ten wins and thirteen minors through thirty-five competitive starts, the Outback Prince entire placed third in the Listed Prime Minister’s Cup (1400m) on May 7th before returning to winning form in the Listed Tattersall’s Club Members’ Handicap (1600m) a week later. Having placed second in each of the Listed Ipswich Cup (2150m) and Listed Caloundra Cup (2400m) most recently, Jumbo Prince will be partnered by regular hoop Jim Byrne on Thursday.

Malice ($4.50)

Malice also carries strong form into the Grafton Cup, but will have to overcome 57kgs and may find the likes of Jumbo Prince a little too sharp in the late stages as a result. Claiming five wins and a further eleven minors through thirty-one career starts to date, the Teofilo gelding arrived in Brisbane for third in the Group 3 Lord Mayor’s Cup (1615m) on May 28th, and has subsequently run fourth in the Listed Wayne Wilson Mile (1600m) and third in the Group 3 Tattersall’s Cup (2200m). Malice is sure to be give a gem of a ride by Brenton Avdulla and is a leading chance of a first three finish in the 2016 Grafton Cup.

Teronado ($15)

Five-year-old Teronado has returned to smart form this time, and arguably offers punters the best value for money in 2016 Grafton Cup betting markets at his current quote. A notable performer at the highest level throughout his entire racing career so far, the Testa Rossa gelding required a couple of runs to find form upon resuming this time, but placed second in the Listed AM Giles Quality (1830m) last time out on June 25th. Trainer Bruce Hill is confident the gelding will enjoy a step up in distance, as well as a big step back in weights to only 54kgs.
